In September 2014, governments gathered at the United Nations General Assembly to review a three year comprehensive review of data on progress, gaps and challenges in delivering the commitments set out in the ICPD Programme of Action. At a special session of the United Nations General Assembly, they reaffirmed their their original vision and signed up to new Framework for Action that would deliver the vision of the ICPD in the context of 21st Century challenges and opportunities.
